My name is one most people haven't heard before. My parents found an elongated version of it tucked inside a fairy encyclopedia, rearranged a few letters, removed others, and somehow made a name that's always felt entirely my own.
It was one of the first stories I was ever given, and probably the first reason I learned to pay attention to the small, beautiful details people leave behind.
I work in both photography and video, across:

I grew up in Denmark, a small town on the southern coast of Western Australia, where the ocean was less a backdrop than a way of life.
Music drifted through old houses and long car rides, salt lived permanently in the air, and creativity was woven into everyday moments without anyone needing to name it. That's where photography first rooted itself in me, not as something performative, but as a way of noticing. A way of holding onto the feeling of things before they disappeared, long before I began to capture it with a camera.
That instinct eventually became Elleqin Media.
Good photography and film start with paying attention. Not to the settings or the shot list, but to what’s actually unfolding in front of you, the in-between moments, the real ones, the ones that are easy to miss if you’re not genuinely present.
I work slowly and observationally: close enough to catch the details that matter, relaxed enough that people forget the camera is there. The results feel editorial without being stiff, natural light used as it actually is, not corrected into something generic.
Champagne poured after a ceremony, the last light falling across someone’s shoulder before a set begins, the silence underwater when everything else disappears.
I’m based in Byron Bay and photograph and film throughout the Northern Rivers. The light here is extraordinary to work with: golden hour through eucalyptus, dusk on a headland beach, afternoon sun through the timber buildings of a hinterland town.
