what i love to capture
Movement, mostly.
Musicians in the middle of a set, when the sound is coming off them in waves. A crowd the moment it stops watching and starts moving. Couples who have forgotten there’s a camera in the room. Clothes that catch the wind, and the work people have poured themselves into making.
That instinct carries into live music, couples, fashion and brand work. No two briefs arrive the same way, and I’ll match whatever the project needs.
Nothing comes off a template. Every shoot gets built around the project in front of me, which is why the first conversation usually runs long.
I want to hear the record before I photograph the band. I want to know what a label is actually trying to say, or what couples are genuinely like together, rather than how they think they’re meant to look on the day. It takes more time than turning up with a shot list, and it’s the reason the work doesn’t look like everyone else’s.
By the time the camera is out, I already know what I’m looking for.
